TAG (Teen Advisory Group)

The Teen Advisory Group is a group of dedicated junior high and high school students who are interested in making a difference at their library.  TAG members play a critical role in developing the library’s young adult collection, young adult outreach, event planning and marketing, and making the library a friendlier place for young adults.  This month we will be decorating the Teen Department for Christmas.

S.T.E.M. for Tweens & Teens

This program will be held on the second Thursday of the month from September through May at 3:30 p.m.  Come enjoy the hands-on-experience of learning.  Children in grades 6 -12 are encouraged to join the learning fun!  This month’s project: Edible Playdough.  Please sign-up at the adult circulation desk or by phone at 419-396-7921 or 419-788-2768.

Building Tech Skills with Northstar Digital Literacy

Northstar Digital Literacy is an online tool that helps users learn the basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment, and higher education. Dorcas Carey Public Library is offering this service free of charge. Employers can use it to evaluate and improve their employees' tech skills. Job seekers who need to improve their digital literacy may find it invaluable. And anyone who would simply like to learn the basics of the internet, tablets, and smartphones will find it useful. Join us to learn more on Tuesday, November 21st at 7 p.m.

Unwind after school with a different activity every month – games, crafts, snacks and more!  Teen Time is the first Thursday of the month for grades 6 – 12 and runs September – May.   This month’s activity will be making Christmas Cards for the nursing home.
